The Swedish bass player, songwriter and multi instrumentalist Felisia Westberg displays a wide range of influences in her music. She has her roots in jazz, which we can hear on her first album Magic We Make (2020), but moves on to a more pop oriented sound on self-produced “Himlavandrare”, released in 2022.
With a heartfelt presence she sings about life’s mysteries – about constant change, consciousness, and the power of faith. The music moves between indie pop, singer-songwriter and symphonic rock which is woven together by Westberg’s characteristic harmonies and soulful voice. Thoughts go to the 70’s, and you can sense influences from Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Björk and Radiohead.
She is frequently employed on the Swedish music scene and we have heard her with Ane Brun, Sara Parkman, Rebecka Törnqvist, Dina Ögon, Ale Möller and Iiris Viljanen, just to name a few, mainly as bassist but also on flute, guitar, synthesizer and cello.
